Great Lakes Humane Society

We offer a secure haven for the animals entrusted to us as we work to find them loving, responsible, and long-term homes while promoting animal welfare.

The Animal Welfare League of Benzie County was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1977 in accordance with Michigan Law. The League's operations are entirely volunteer-driven and are overseen by its four officers and six-member Board of Directors.

The Help From My Friends' Pet Catastrophe Center helps Antrim County by accepting mainly owner-returned pets as a result of a family crisis. These pets originated from loving homes, but when their owners were left with no other choices, they were forced to give up their pet (s).

Cat and kitten rescue Just Cats, Inc. operates out of foster homes. To assist the neighborhood with the stray cat population, we collaborate closely with other rescue organizations, shelters, and humane societies. When owners can no longer give their cats or kittens the care they need, we also assist in finding new homes for them.
