Animal welfare is the focus of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Great Lakes Humane Society. Our headquarters are located in Leelanau County, about three miles west of Traverse City, on a 10-acre private farm.

Cat and kitten rescue Just Cats, Inc. operates out of foster homes. To assist the neighborhood with the stray cat population, we collaborate closely with other rescue organizations, shelters, and humane societies. When owners can no longer give their cats or kittens the care they need, we also assist in finding new homes for them.
