Humane Society of Cherokee County

Within the boundaries of Tahlequah City, stray and abandoned animals are rescued and recovered by Tahlequah Animal Control Officers.

The Internal Revenue Service has granted recognition to the non-profit, charitable Promoting Animal Welfare Society, Inc. (PAWS).

The Wagoner City Animal Shelter canines are the focus of the rescue organization Tall Tails. We only collaborate with animal control officer Bo Henson to accomplish our shared objective of SAVE THE FORGOTTEN.

Animal Control or concerned people have removed these animals from the Muskogee municipal limits.

We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization with license #SLT00073 from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry.

All animal laws in the City must be enforced, according to the Animal Control Officer. Any infractions of the animal laws may result in citations from this officer.
