One of the main animal welfare organizations in the region, the Central New York Cat Coalition is dedicated to the rescue and adoption of cats and kittens as well as low-cost spay/neuter and trap-neuter-release (TNR) programs.

The Central New York SPCA has been fighting animal neglect and cruelty since it was founded in 1891. The abuse of the mules used to pull the barges on the Erie Canal inspired our founders to start our organization.

By finding homeless canines from congested shelter systems loving homes, Helping Hounds Dog Rescue (HHDR) takes a sympathetic approach to dog rescue.

Since then, the initiative has helped over 140 prisoners and fostered over 500 dogs! All of the dogs we rescue are native dogs in need of assistance from the CNY community, and we're pleased to say that!a

To give the cats and dogs entrusted to our care permanent, loving homes and to uphold a no-kill attitude in order to provide our community with an animal shelter that demonstrates compassion and respect for life.
