We are a no-kill animal orphanage that accepts stray cats and dogs from animal control or the police. situated in Maine's Old Town.

Our operations and services at SHS, a 501(c)3 no-kill shelter in Skowhegan, Maine, are primarily supported by private donations. We do not accept any federal tax funding, and we are not associated with any other American humanitarian organizations.

HSWA has provided a shelter for animals in need since 1970. The animal's quality of life is always our priority. We are an open-admission, high adoption institution.
