Sandersville Animal Control

ARF's mission has been to find unwanted cats and dogs responsible, long-term homes, to promote spaying and neutering of all pets, and to inform the public about how to treat and care for animals.

Animal Control's purpose is to safeguard the health and safety of our citizens as well as to safeguard animals and advance humane treatment of them. We will make an effort to serve our county with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency.

Georgia's third-largest county is Laurens County. There is only one other shelter, and it can only house dogs, in all the counties that surround us.

An organization with a charitable mission, the Thomson-McDuffie County Animal Shelter is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of all animals. Our goals are to provide a safe haven for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals, educate the public on ethical pet ownership, motivate people to spay and neuter their pets, and promote adoption of the animals in our care.

Our daily objectives are to uphold local, state, and federal laws pertaining to animal protection, safeguard the public's health and safety, and encourage responsible pet ownership.

We accept retired racing greyhounds, assist them in adjusting to life outside of racing, and help them find the ideal forever home.
