In shelters like the ones we have here in Utah, hundreds of thousands of lovable dogs and cats were put to death only because they had a secure place to call home.

A non-profit (501)(c)(3) organization called the Rocky Mountain Dachshund Rescue (RMDR) exists to assist dachshunds in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the adjacent Rocky Mountains that are in need of a home.

Through adoptions, education, and accessible immunization services, we are committed to putting an end to the plague of homeless pets and helping the neighborhood. The 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill shelter Second Chance for Homeless Pets is tax-exempt.

A group of people who share the same passion for saving tiny breed dogs from high-kill shelters around the country and locating them loving forever homes have formed Second Chance Chi Rescue and Pledge Club.

Since 2011, we have been committed to running a "no-kill" operation. Every year, our live release rate exceeds 94%. We have achieved this rank as the biggest shelter in Utah.
