Fostering, adoption, spaying/neutering, education, and community outreach to support and give care, comfort, and compassion to animals in need.

Our objectives are to find missing animals their human companions, to offer a safe haven for lost animals or animals given up by their owners, and to plan the best adoptions of available animals into the families most compatible with their characteristics.

NBAR is a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit, No-Kill cat rescue that puts 100% of its energy, time, money, and effort into giving the cats in its care the finest care possible while working assiduously to find them loving, adoptive homes.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, NO-KILL animal shelter and rescue that was established in 1982. We also provide dog training at our facilities and provide a food pantry for pet owners who can no longer afford to feed their animals.

The Catfé Lounge is a unique interpretation of the cat cafe concept that was founded in 2015. We are a part of the Ferndale Cat Shelter, a 501c3 cat rescue, not just a collaborator with an animal sanctuary.

The Ferndale Cat Shelter is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization committed to offering cat residents in the Metropolitan Detroit region access to medical care, adoption services, foster homes, and trap-neuter-release programs. As a no-kill group, our goal is to better the lives of cats in our neighborhood and raise the bar for cat guardianship and adoption. The Catfé Lounge, a cat café that serves as our central location for cat adoption, volunteerism, and fostering, is our licensed shelter.
