Hawkins County Humane Society

The mission of Northern Lights Rescue & Transport is to rescue animals and provide them with temporary housing until they may be adopted by loving families. Every year, Mohawk saves a lot of animals from dangerous situations, and we work to make the adoption process as short as possible so that we can go out and save more lives.

The construction of a no-kill animal shelter in Southwest Virginia is being funded by a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

The MHHS is working toward a 92% saving rate target. To achieve no kill by 2025, we are collaborating with Best Friends and other shelters across the nation.

Is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that does not receive financing from the government. Each year, we are able to care for more than 1500 unwanted and homeless dogs and cats because to your tax-deductible gifts.

In order to protect the welfare, health, and safety of the general public, the Greene County Animal Control office handles the humane capture, impoundment, and destruction of animals as needed.
