In San Pablo, California, a nonprofit organization called Jelly's Place rescues, treats, and places dogs and cats that have been abandoned, impounded, ill, or injured.

Located in the San Francisco-East Bay area, Bitten By A Kitten Rescue is a private rescue. We take litters from private parties and prevent orphan kittens from being put to death at neighborhood shelters. We frequently bring orphan litters for bottle feeding.

Berkeley Animal Care Services offers shelter for stray animals, upholds animal-related city ordinances, collects dead or injured wildlife, and looks into cases of animal abuse, cruelty, nuisance, and bites.

A 501(c)(3) charity group called Friends of Berkeley Animal Care Services (FoBACS) is committed to helping Berkeley Animal Care Services (BACS), the city's open-admission animal shelter that provides services to the Californian towns of Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, and Piedmont.

A committed volunteer Board of Directors who work on behalf of Berkeley Humane and the animals in our community run Berkeley Humane, a private nonprofit 501(c)(3).
