Mohawk Hudson Humane Society

The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS), which was established in 1887 and serves the counties of Albany, Rensselaer, and the surrounding areas, is the oldest and biggest animal protection organization in New York's Capital Region. We offer an ever-expanding range of services for animals and those who care for them, in addition to housing and caring for stray, abused, and unwanted animals. The low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services, vaccination and microchip clinics, stray housing for towns, dog training, a pet food bank, and humane education programming for all ages are among the programs that helped lead to a 95.6% live release rate in 2021.
