Through education, adoption, and kind, efficient enforcement of the Tennessee Codes Annotated Relating to Animals and the Rules & Regulations Relating to Control of Animals in Rutherford County, Rutherford County Pet Adoption & Welfare Services is collaborating with the community to create a safe, healthy, and caring environment for both our citizens and animals.

As a division of the DeKalb Animal Coalition, the DeKalb Animal Shelter staff consists of three full-time workers. We are happy to be a low-kill shelter, and we work assiduously to collaborate with reputable rescues and to spread awareness of responsible pet ownership among the general public.
