Humane Society of Branch County

The main objective of AABC is to help homeless animals from Branch and Hillsdale Counties find new homes, with a focus on lowering the number of animals put to death at the Branch County Animal Control facility.

Dumping an animal anywhere in the state of Michigan, including at an animal shelter after it closes, is against the law.

Hillsdale Felines and Friends is dedicated to bettering the lives of the feral and street cat population within the City of Hillsdale, Michigan, by embracing the humane method of TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return).

The company is an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit that adheres to no-kill principles. Our main goal is to provide safe refuge, care, and sustenance to orphaned, hurt, and abused pets so they can live happy, healthy lives.

We all had the opportunity to contribute by using our individual strengths; collectively, we cleaned cages, did laundry, handled office and clerical tasks, sorted cat treats, gave out prescriptions, and of course, socialized the cats and kittens.

At the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, we support second chances. All of Calhoun County, as well as portions of Kalamazoo, Barry, and Branch counties, are included in our service area. After passing temperament testing and being given a health checkup, we retain animals for as long as it takes to find them a loving home for adoption. Every day of the year, the Watkins Road shelter provides care for up to 100 animals. Each year, the Society's programs for animal care, adoption, and education are utilized by several locals.
