Our goal is to show the utmost compassion to the animals entrusted to our care, to significantly reduce the overpopulation of companion animals, and to take the lead in advancing humanitarian principles and educational initiatives that benefit animals.

I'm sure many of you have experienced the heartbreak of losing a family pet. You have access to Pet Posse. We have no paid personnel and don't charge anyone to help with a pet search.

The fledgling Soroptimist Club had just been established in 1946 and was searching for community programs to assist. They were looking for a project because they didn't have much money in the bank. On the project committee, Mrs. George (Lucelia) Wiltse made the suggestion that the community needs a Humane Society.

The Welfare for Animals Guild's mission is to defend the rights and welfare of animals, protect them from mistreatment and exploitation, and raise public understanding and empathy for the creatures with whom we coexist on our planet.

In order to be ready to take over from the County, concerned Jefferson County residents formed the Humane Society of Jefferson County (HSJCWA) in 2008. We took over running the shelter in 2012 from the county and the sheriff's office.

In order to reduce the amount of needless euthanasias carried out, Center Valley Animal Rescue is dedicated to offering safe harbor and rehabilitation for unwanted, hurt, or abandoned domesticated and wild animals.
