Taps No Kill Shelter

TAPS is a place of refuge and hope for stray animals. By uniting loving people and companion animals, we offer a temporary haven and a chance at life.

Tazewell County and the majority of its municipalities receive our animal control services.

Every municipality in Peoria County, as well as the unincorporated areas, is serviced by Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS). Our office is in charge of enforcing animal control laws, keeping track of rabies registrations, running an open admission shelter, and providing wholesome pets for adoption.

Every animal that enters our facility is treated just like one of our own.

An organization called Pets for Seniors matches cats and dogs from shelters and foster pet groups with senior citizens who may require some assistance with the duties of pet ownership.

Pet Pack Rescue Initiative was established in 2022 to serve as a resource for foster cats and dogs from various regional animal shelters and rescues. Our organization, PPRI, encourages communication and cooperation among all parties involved in animal welfare.
