Pets Are Worth Saving

1995 saw the founding of West Star Ranch by Elsie Dougherty. Her passion for animals inspired her to create this flourishing animal rescue.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to rescue animals in need and run low-cost spay/neuter clinics in the Nevadan communities of Pahrump and Nye County.

Given that there is a Golden Retriever rescue in every state and that there are more than 80 Golden Retriever rescues in the United States, we realized that there was a desperate need to aid the countless Goldens that are killed each year in other nations for the heinous trade in dog meat.

Pets in our program temporarily reside in foster homes while they wait to be adopted into permanent homes.

Animal Help Alliance specializes in saving the misunderstood, damaged, and difficult-to-adopt animals in our neighborhood. Please consider one of our "Special Kids" as a foster or permanent family member. We frequently have "Special Kids" that require that additional training, have a disability, or have a lifetime medical problem.
