Humane Society of Richland County

The main function of the Richland County Dog Warden's Office and Adoption Center is to act as an organization and facility for animal control in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code's provisions, while simultaneously boosting the number of adopted canines by raising public awareness.

Low-cost spay/neuter for cats and adoptable rescued cats.

Canines brought in by the dog warden or stray dogs are taken in by the Ashland County Dog Shelter. Before being released to the owner or being vaccinated and placed up for adoption, the dogs are detained for a predetermined period of time.

Since its founding in 1971, The Humane Society has been assisting Crawford County.  For almost 50 years, community. We are a privately funded, entirely self-sustaining corporation. funding sources include a weekly bingo game, adoptions, charity events, memorial donations, and bequests.

The Ashland County Humane Society is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization run entirely by volunteers that is committed to the welfare of animals in the Ashland County region.
