The Cats Made Me Do It!!!

We are a non-profit animal rescue based in central Kentucky. We try to prevent animal cruelty, offer education and support for spaying and neutering all pets, and search for the best homes for the animals in our care.

We are a modest but excellent shelter. Every animal is given every opportunity in the world.

With the help of more than 50 volunteers in addition to 4 animal control officers, the Animal Care and Control Department serves Hardin County. They provide care for up to 200 animals at a time in the shelter.

We are giving animals a haven to call their permanent residence.

A non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, The Humane Society of Nelson County was established in 1994. All sick and injured animals that end up in the Nelson County Animal Shelter are taken care of by this group.

We make an effort to give every animal a chance at adoption or rescue. Every animal that stays at our shelter should get good care, love, and attention.
