Newton County Animal Shelter

Jasper County in the state of Indiana runs and supports our shelter organization. Due to a lack of room, we are not yet a no-kill organization or shelter.

For the purpose of caring for abandoned and neglected cats in foster homes before finding them new homes, Kittenville was founded.

We are a tiny, volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to animal welfare. We protect cats and dogs from cruelty, abuse, and neglect. Serving Northwest Indiana-Lake County, we collaborate closely with the management of local shelter, area veterinarians, and local residents.

Defending animals as property, conserving their habitats, and fostering a positive relationship between people and animals.

Our goal is to lessen pet overpopulation and animal homelessness by helping homeless animals find shelter, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, providing thoroughly vetted adoption services, and supporting spay and neuter campaigns.
