The only organization working to construct and run a no-kill pet animal shelter for all Leavenworth County residents is Leavenworth County Humane Society, Inc. We run out of a converted plant nursery that has room for 10 dogs and up to 20 cats while we raise the money to build.

Additionally, the Animal Control Shelter's unclaimed animals can be adopted thanks to Leavenworth Animal Control. Pet owners are strongly encouraged to spay or neuter their animals by Leavenworth Animal Control.

Since 1991, Leavenworth County's animals have benefited from LAWS, a 501 (3)(C) non-profit organization run by devoted volunteers. Donations are our only source of funding.

Our goal is to save and enhance the lives of dogs and cats throughout the Greater Kansas City area by offering adoptions, education, and preventive veterinary care, as well as spay/neuter services.

The goal of Bonner Animal Rescue is to reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs in Bonner Springs, Kansas, by increasing awareness of the humane treatment of animals, promoting spay/neuter programs, and providing temporary shelter and care for adoptable cats and dogs before placing them in suitable homes.

Through services, advocacy, and education, encourage the caring and humane treatment of people and animals. OUR DESIRE IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE, LOVED, AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT FOR SENIOR DOGS THROUGH RESCUE, ADOPTION, AND LIFELONG CARE IF REQUIRED.
