Feline Hope

The Dare County Animal Shelter is staffed and run by the Outer Banks SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization. The Dare County Animal Shelter has been helping animals in need in the Outer Banks region since 1978. The wellbeing of all animals, whether domestic, stray, or wild, is a priority for the refuge. The Outer Banks SPCA serves as a community resource for dogs and people who assist homeless and abandoned animals throughout our County as the sole animal shelter in Dare County.

To provide shelter, medical attention, and a second opportunity to disadvantaged animals in our neighborhood; to prevent animal abuse; to encourage a general benevolence toward all living things; and to lessen animal overpopulation by advocacy for spay/neuter procedures.

In Northeastern North Carolina, we are an open admission shelter serving Pasquotank and Camden Counties. We provide spay/neuter services, veterinary assistance, pet retention, and much more.

To improve the perception of the companion animal via advocacy, education, and spay/neuter.

Looking for volunteers to help with cleaning up the shelter and collecting food and other supplies!
