Aunt January's Feather N Fur Rescue

Animals that are homeless, abandoned, or whose owners are unable to care for them are saved by our organization. While we work to find our furry friends forever homes, we offer shelter and veterinary care.

Founded in 1999, APA is a non-kill rescue organization that accepts exclusively homeless cats and kittens. No employees at APA are paid. We have extremely dedicated, unpaid volunteers working for us.

Our goal is to give every animal that comes into the shelter the best care we can. While they wait for their permanent homes, we want them to feel at ease, secure, and cherished.

A non-profit, all-volunteer canine rescue group that works in Kentucky and Indiana is called Fat Heads Rescue. Our goal is to find responsible, knowledgeable owners for pit bull-type dogs and then rescue, rehab, and rehome them.

Two regional non-profits, the Floyd County Animal Rescue League (FCARL) and the Floyd County Humane Society, support us in this endeavor as a municipal facility offering animal control and sheltering services to our community.

First and foremost, we are public servants to the Harrison County community. We are an animal shelter and have provided animal control services to our community since 2005."a
