Pickens County Animal Shelter

Our goal is to provide a no-kill shelter for stray animals found in the Big Canoe neighborhood, giving them a place to stay until they are adopted into a lifelong, devoted home.

Our mission is to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs and to find good, loving homes for the abandoned and abused animals in our community.

The animal shelter in Gilmer County is a county-run facility. We keep domesticated animals that have been abandoned, abused, and are unwanted. These animals can also be adopted.

The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is devoted to preserving the lives of animals and is open-door, compassionate, pro-active, committed to humane education, invested in the care of pets in our community, and proactive.

Our goal is to give shelter and basic necessities to the stray cats and canines in Dawson County.
