Open Door Animal Sanctuary

In the state of Missouri, The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are an all-volunteer group that saves dogs of all ages, but we focus primarily on dogs over the age of five.

To devoted dog owners, we extend our hands and our best wishes. We make sure our devoted friends receive the secure and devoted homes they deserve by compassionately fostering during temporary obstacles and thoughtfully adopting the orphaned pet.

We are committed to providing senior dogs and cats who are homeless or ill with a loving home and work to make the rest of their lives the best possible.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill medical animal rescue committed to assisting the hurt, unwanted, and neglected animals. We are a foster-based rescue, and our mission is to provide those in need with compassion, protection, medical care, nutrition, and ultimately a loving and safe forever family.

When the founder and his wife first began rescuing dogs in the 1980s, our tale officially begins. Animal control alerted Sadie and Hannah about a Golden Retriever that was going to be put down due to the popularity of their own Golden Retrievers, Sadie and Hannah. Jenny was her name.
