The lovely Shenandoah Valley offers simple pet adoption options through the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA. As a 501(c)(3) private charity animal shelter that practices no-kill, we do not currently receive money from any major animal welfare organizations like the ASPCA or the HSUS.

We genuinely care about the animals in our care, and we make a lot of effort to not only improve their quality of life but also to make the Page County Animal Shelter's name synonymous with compassion.

Through leadership and pro-active approaches to reducing pet overpopulation, like as adoptions, spay/neuter programs, and education, the Augusta Regional SPCA promotes the humane treatment of companion animals.

According to rules established by the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Greene County Animal Shelter is required to humanely follow euthanasia procedures for unwanted animals as well as to arrange for the adoption of as many animals as possible.

The Madison-Greene Humane Society is the only organization in charge of deciding what happens to homeless and abandoned cats in Greene County. We accept 300 cats on average each year, whether they are turned in as surrenders or are discovered abandoned. We also help the neighboring counties in Central Virginia by providing affordable rabies and spay/neuter services.

Chains Hurt was renamed Augusta Dog Adoptions in 2006. We are a 501c3 all-volunteer rescue organization that accepts and places dogs that are brought to us from regional shelters and high-kill pounds all throughout Virginia. We are situated in Augusta County, Virginia, and conduct the majority of our adoptions there.
