The SPCA of East Texas' MISSION is to enhance the welfare of animals, lessen their suffering, and raise their social position.

Dava Cooley-Cook, our founder and executive director, and her family launched County Roads Rescue in May 2016. Even though our family has always had a soft spot for animal rescue, our decision to launch a true rescue was spurred by the huge problem of stray and unwanted animals as well as the knowledge that Cherokee County people had no other options.

We are a refuge run by the city. Only stray and lost animals from the City of Jacksonville will be accepted by us.
