Wolf Trap Animal Rescue (WTAR) concentrates its efforts on saving at-risk animals from being put to death, neglect, and cruelty. The majority of these creatures originate in Mississippi, where young animals are routinely put to death in the hundreds owing to overcrowding.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Golden Retriever Rescue, Education and Training, Inc. (GREAT) is committed to helping unwanted, stray, and abandoned Golden Retrievers find loving new homes. We are a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers that provides services to Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, eastern West Virginia, and south central Pennsylvania. Each year, GRREAT places about 100 Golden Retrievers. Additionally, we work to inform the public about the traits of the Golden Retriever breed and the benefits of adopting a rescued dog.

To take in animals from overcrowded shelters, animals found as strays in our neighborhood, or animals whose owners are forced to surrender them when misfortune strikes, in order to decrease the at-risk homeless animal population;

Mutt Love Rescue is pleased to announce that we will once again be doing adoption events on Saturdays at Weber's Pet Supermarket. We respect the safety of our volunteers and adopters, so we ask that anyone who hasn't received all of their vaccinations or isn't completely vaccinated wear a mask at all times.

The sole municipal, open-access shelter in Fairfax County is the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. The shelter offers a secure location for dogs, cats, and small animals to stay while they wait for their forever families, receiving 4,000 to 5,000 animals each year. Visitors to the shelter are always welcome to meet cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, and dozens of small animals. We

The Humane Society of Fairfax County, Inc.'s goals are to advance humane education, stop all types of animal abuse—both domestic and wild—by using all legal methods at our disposal, and help the local community in any way we can with issues involving animal welfare.

8. Northern Greyhound Adoption

The goal of N.G.A., a non-profit greyhound adoption group, is to house ex-racers, neuter each one, and integrate them into the local communities. As they unwind and acclimate to their golden years, dogs are welcomed into our kennel and socialized with our volunteers and other Greyhounds.
