Fairbanks Animal Control/Shelter

A small charity group called Friends of the Valdez Animal Shelter is committed to improving shelter animals' lives and assisting them in locating devoted, lifelong homes. A group of volunteers manages the FVAS Petstore and organizes fundraisers on their own time. Spaying and neutering, medical attention, and supplies are provided for animals in need using the money earned.

Volunteers at the Valdez Animal Shelter improve the lives of numerous dogs, cats, and other four-legged animals. You take dogs for walks, groom cats, assist with cleaning the shelter, donate your time and skills to numerous fund-raising initiatives, assist in finding homes for numerous homeless animals, among many other equally significant deeds of compassion.

Until they are adopted, the Alaska Humane Society provides them with housing, food, and any necessary medical treatment. Every cat that is not adopted remains our property for their whole lifespan. We operate a no-kill facility.

The Alaska SPCA makes sure that all adoptable animals are neutered, registered, and microchipped before they travel to their new homes.
