Elko Animal Shelter

Our goal is to help people who need to rehome their pets before they wind up in shelters and to save the lives of adoptable dogs in nearby shelters. Prior to adoption, each of our dogs receives an alteration, a vaccination, and a microchip.

Many stray cats and canines are housed by us. These creatures have been kept as strays for five days.

In Fallon, Nevada, there is a tiny, nonprofit animal shelter called the Churchill Animal Protection Society (CAPS). Since August 1986, CAPS has provided assistance to Churchill County citizens.

Until the owners are able to pick up their pets or the animal is made available for adoption, rescue, or euthanasia, the Tonopah Animal Shelter offers care for lost and impounded animals.

In terms of animal welfare, public health and safety, rabies control, quarantine, animal cruelty investigations, barking dogs, and animals-at-large, Animal Control enforces all of the ordinances under Title 6 of the Nye County Code that are related to animals.

Enforcement of the Nevada Revised Statutes and Lyon County Codes pertaining to animal-related matters is the responsibility of Lyon County Animal Services. We also help residents of Lyon County adopt dogs and license their pets.
