We have linked dogs with their perfect homes since 2009. Instead of having tragic endings, strays, geriatric, and special needs canines have found their happily ever afters.

For more than 20 years, the Buffalo County Humane Association has provided care for companion animals. The Jerome and Judith Benson Animal Shelter, our first permanent shelter structure, debuted in November 2019.

The Chippewa Humane Association is doing an RAFFLE to collect money to support the diversity of animals that enter our doors in need of a haven to be looked after, fed, and loved until they find their forever home.

A brutal act that killed Flash, a four-year-old Basset Hound, prompted the creation of the Dunn County Humane Society. In honor of him, it is dedicated to ending animal suffering. The Society was granted nonprofit status by the State of Wisconsin in December 1993.

On November 25, 2005, we welcomed the general public and had one cat up for adoption. People and organizations in the neighborhood who were committed to assuring the care of the animals we serve provided the land, the building's materials, and the labor necessary to create it. We made the decision to be a no-kill shelter, and we are still doing so today.

For the past 18 years, the Barefoot Crow Animal Rescue has taken in all kinds of domestic animals. To mention a few of the animals we accept include horses, barn cats, dogs, potbelly pigs, goats, lambs, alpacas, and llamas.
