Huntington Shelter & Adoption

The employees at the Huntington Animal Shelter & Adoption Center are committed to aiding the strays animals in our community.

The Town of Huntington Cat Shelter is a municipal no-kill shelter created to assist Huntington Township's homeless animals and pet owners. Little Shelter Animal Rescue oversees the management of the Town of Huntington Cat Shelter.

A non-profit, no-kill animal shelter called Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center is located in Huntington, Long Island, on six wooded acres. Since 1927, we have devoted our lives to finding loving permanent homes for abandoned dogs and kittens.

The Long Island Feline Adoption Center was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the sole purpose of helping homeless cats and kittens find adoptive homes.

The 501c3 tax-exempt Golden Paw Society is devoted to the rescue of cats who have spent a long time in municipal shelters and/or who are in urgent need of being taken out of the shelter environment. The organization is completely charity and entirely volunteer. We work to provide the cats who need us the most a second opportunity, believing that every cat deserves to be loved, cared for, and given another shot, regardless of how old, ill, or "difficult" they may be.

The Smithtown Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is a point of entry for all lost, stray, and surrendered animals, primarily for the inhabitants of Smithtown. It is situated at 410 East Main Street. Any stray animal is kept at the shelter for the least required amount of time—three days—while staff members look into potential owners and work to reconnect missing pets with their worried families. Our staff gives the animals care during this period so they can wait for their families with as little discomfort as possible. The animals are then assessed and put on the adoption floor where they might find new homes if the owner cannot be found.
