Checkered Flag Animal Sanctuary & Rescue

Since 1990, the Durham County Animal Shelter has been run by the Animal Protection Society of Durham (APS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been assisting animals in our community since 1970.

Animal Control and Animal Sheltering operations in Orange County are handled by the Animal Services Department. Its goal is to provide affordable, integrated sheltering and animal management services that safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of people, pets, and the community at large while also meeting the requirements of the locals.

Saving Grace started in 2004 at a farm and private residence to match adoptable pets with loving homes. One of the states with the highest rates of euthanasia in the nation is North Carolina.

We began working toward our goal of saving animals in late 2015, and we have already saved over 25 animals.

A no-kill shelter and cat rescue organization, Cat Angels Pet Adoptions is located in Cary, North Carolina. As a 501(c)(3) public organization, our goal is to lessen the number of cats and kittens in kill shelters by helping them find safe, loving, permanent homes.
