Animal Rescue League of Boston- Administration Building

The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) has been providing assistance to animals and those who care for them for more than 120 years; in fact, we are frequently the first to respond. With more than 1,000 committed volunteers and 100 staff members, ARL provides unwavering support to local communities, families, and animals.

It's hard to believe that such a facility exists for homeless dogs, but it does: Shultz's Guest House is a 501c3 canine rescue shelter, situated on 200 private acres in Dedham, Massachusetts. Dogs and visitors feel as though they have entered paradise because it is surrounded by trees, ponds, and the Charles River runs through it.

We are a tiny no-kill cat shelter in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood. A network of devoted foster homes is also part of our system. With the intention of placing the homeless cats in loving permanent homes, we rescue them and take care of their medical and behavioral problems.

The division of Animal Care and Control provides affordable pet wellness services. They carry out animal-related rules and ordinances. Inspections are conducted by the division at licensed animal kennels, veterinary clinics, pet salons, and special animal displays. They look into incidents of animal maltreatment as well.
