Locals have a wonderful opportunity to adopt pets that need a home at the Cortez Animal Shelter.

The network of other rescue organizations with similar objectives would benefit greatly from the inclusion of this organization. Hopefully, by working together, we can improve the situation for the numerous abandoned and mistreated animals in the Four Corners region.

Since 1971, the La Plata County Humane Society (LPCHS) has provided care for animals.

Through our shelter services, we have been able to save lives since 1994 while also creating community programs and services.
