Converse Animal Care Facility

One of the earliest no-kill shelters in the San Antonio region, Casi started rescuing and rehoming cats and dogs in 1982. On property George Ammeman kindly gave, our shelter was constructed using contributions, volunteers, and a lot of labor. More than 20,000 defenseless, unloved, abandoned, ill, and lost animals have passed through our doors since then.

Promote public health and safety for Live Oak residents and their pets is the goal of Live Oak Animal Control. Animal Control is in charge of informing the public about current State Regulations and City Ordinances, as well as, when necessary, enforcing these laws. Every animal brought into the facility is subject to the care and attention of Animal Control. The animals kept here are either awaiting reunification with their missing owners or, if that is not possible, awaiting adoption into new, permanent homes.

In addition, Animal Control will look into any complaints about animal bites, aggressive animals, or animals without adequate shelter, food, or water.

In Schertz, Texas, Homes for Pets is devoted to assisting stray animals in finding their forever homes through pet adoption and foster care.

The Schertz Animal Services Division of the Police Department takes up and shelters stray, sick, and/or injured animals, conducts animal cruelty and neglect investigations, and enforces Texas laws pertaining to animals and the City of Schertz's animal ordinance.

Rescued cats and dogs are taken in by the Animal Defense League of Texas, who also give them with food, medical care, and shelter in a secure live release facility until they are paired with their permanent families. We promote ethical pet ownership by educating and empowering the community.
