CITY DOGS

A 501(c)3 community-based non-profit group called Neighborhood Pets offers low-cost wellness care, a free spay/neuter program, a pet food bank, assistance with veterinarian care, inexpensive pet supplies, and endless counseling and services as required.

Before working at the Lakewood Animal Shelter/CCLAS, volunteers are required to submit to a police background check. The Lakewood Animal Shelter, Lakewood Police Department, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, should receive the completed application package that is attached.

Secondhand Mutts was started in 2006 and ran as a grassroots community organization until becoming a recognized nonprofit in 2009. It was inspired by one dog left and tied to the door at the founders' canine socialization center.

To promote compassion and put an end to animal suffering is the goal of the Cleveland Animal Protective League.

A nonprofit group called THE SANCTUARY FOR Older DOGS is committed to the rescue, adoption, and lifelong care of senior dogs left in pounds and shelters.

The nonprofit Big Paws Large Breed Rescue takes in surrendered dogs and provides them with a temporary home until we are able to place them with new, devoted homes. We are a no-kill animal rescue organization.
