The Gateway Humane Society is a young but established company. The society was founded more than 30 years ago by a group of men and women. Before realizing their goals of constructing a suitable facility, they took in and cared for animals in their homes.

We are a No-Kill Cat Adoption Center in Western Pennsylvania, not far from Clarion, Pennsylvania, and we are a part of the No More Homeless Pets movement that is taking over the country.

Until we can find them permanent homes where they will be treated as members of the family, Tri-County Animal Rescue Center saves stray cats and dogs and gives them the high-quality care they require.

A 501c3 non-profit organization called Orphans of the Storm is based in Armstrong County. We were founded in 1969 to give unwanted and mistreated animals a temporary home.

Though ideally the pet would be inside, the shelter must have suitable bedding inside (straw or cedar chips are good possibilities). To assist keep your pet warm, you might consider buy them a jacket.

On October 16, 2017, Ridgway Animal Haven was established in response to the demand for a location where stray, abused, and neglected animals in our community might be brought. I proposed fixing their holding pen to the Ridgway Borough Counsel along with other board members. When the animals were prepared to be adopted, the proposition asked whether we could fix their holding pen and arrange adoptions. The Ridgway Animal Haven board and I made the decision to start our own rescue because we were only permitted a 48-hour holding period. We were ultimately able to raise enough money to construct our own building, despite the lengthy procedure and significant community funding requirements.
