Hampshire County Animal Shelter

Since 2002, AHGRRS has been saving lives, and it intends to keep doing so as long as there is room and money. Your contributions enable us to continue serving those who need us most.

In order to take the dog registration, provide tags, and collect the dog tax and registration fees, the Office of Animal Control collaborates with the Mineral County Assessor's Office.

The Bee Gees were at the top of the charts, Jimmy Carter was in office, and a gallon of gas cost 65 cents when we first opened our doors in 1978. Our structures have not moved with the times, and as a result, they are deteriorating. Our dog kennel and cat trailers have been repaired so many times that they are currently kept together by tar paper and faith.

Our goal is to place retired racing Greyhounds in fantastic, devoted homes and to inform the public about the wonderful, devoted companions these noble animals make. Despite being a tiny group, we are extremely active and committed. We oppose too stringent placement regulations. Please think about adopting one of these honorable hounds from us if you are a responsible, compassionate person who is prepared to provide the time and attention that a Greyhound requires.

The goal of Freedom Hearts Animal Rescue is to give homeless animals in our community a safe haven.
