Hanover County Animal Control and Shelter

The new County Pound was built with the help of the public and the Hanover Humane Society, which was established in July 1986. It opened its doors in 1990. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Hanover Humane Society.

An all-volunteer, non-profit 501 (c) (3) group called Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts (C.A.R.E.) is committed to the rehabilitation, care, and adoption of cats.

A non-profit, no-kill 501(c)3 organization called Richardsons Rescue is devoted to the rescue, treatment, and adoption of domestic animals.

FURS was established in 2001 as an all-volunteer dog adoption and rescue organization. Our neighborhood, grassroots organization is dedicated to the careful, long-term adoption of the dogs we save from killing shelters and other dangerous circumstances.
